Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This had to be my favorite cartoon of the 80's apart from mask. I am now nearly 20 and I still watch on the mornings on network 2. That cartoon had everything and thanks to the turtles I now have a love of pizza, good old Michaelangelo . What had to be the best episode was the one where it depicted how the became what they were. I had all the turtles, splinter, casey jones, Krang, shredder, the rabbit I can never remember his name all I know was he was a ninja rabbit, rocksteady & be-bop, the technodrome, the turtlevan, the turtle blimp, the turtle skateboard, the sewer jetski's , and even the model sewer. It has to be the best cartoon of the 80's and 90's. The new one blows, the crowd who make are the lot who do pokemon and it looks too much pokemon.

    Cowabunga Dude

Ps: I have fiinally reached my hundreth 100 post woohoo!!

Yeah, that's always on Net2 in the morning when I'm getting ready for work.
BUT the song calls them Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles...
... when and why was the Ninja bit removed?

    Political correctness perhaps? :(

That's exactly why it was removed! Ninja stuff is generally frowned upon in the UK, where they occasionally make more nip/tucks for violence. OTH, they're far more free about sex and swearing...

Anyway TMHT/TMNT was certainly not the best of the 80s. By the Great Galaxy, surely you know it's Ulysses 31 of which I have the first two volumes? Cascading comets, Mysterious Cities of Goldl is also superior as is Robotech. And yeah... have them all and currently re-watching :)

what's going on? i'm getting confused... when i used to watch it, it was teenage mutant HERO turtles but when i saw it recently they had changed it to ninja. :ninja: so you guys are all wrong. unless my little mind was warped from the lethal cocktail of lucky charms and soda i liked to call breakfast... and still do...

Fantastic stuff, I still give a peek now and again even though I am in my early 20's. The only thing I hated was when they changed it to Hero and they had Michaelangelo using a graffling hook instead of nun chucks, I was obsessed with those.
I remember one ep were the show began losing it was when Leonardo became obsessed with an arcade machine and then the girl in the machine came to life after lighthening hit it, also the one where Leonardo thought he saw a UFO, that was terrible.

And what were the annoying aliens from some other universe?

The Neutrinos or something... god.. I lothed them...

Baxter Stockman was great though... He was the only action figure I had, in fly mode...

oh and the Rat King was good too...

The rabit was Yojimbo, he was a character from another comic strip...

I think it was ninja turtles in the US and hero turtles over here. I havent seen much of the new series but it looks like the new x-men series (which I like anyway). Heres a question, why did krangs rock soilders change colour? they went from brown to white (or was it vice versa?).

AYe Shredder looks cool in this new series too. But where are Bebob and Rocksteady? I havent seen them in it yet? And no sign of April neither. Man it sucks actually. And Erman was it? The lad in the pink shirt + blue braces. News reporter lad. Kasey Jones aint it ..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 801 ✭✭✭TheWolf

Nah, it was Vernon I think, not Erman. He was a weedy little reporter who was always with April. Wasnt Kasey Jones yer man from one of the movies?

Vernon & Irma used to work with April for Byrne Thompson @ channel 6. Vernon was always trying to get a scoop ahead of April, but when he did, he had always left the lens cap on. Poor Vernan.

Also for a cartoon set in new your, when ever they were on the streats, the place was deserted!! no cars, people or anything!!

    Beebop, Rocksteady, to the modules!!

Casey Jones was the Dirty Harry/ Jason Vorhees cross. He was a vigilante dude with a hockey stick and mask, and the faintest hint of a Mullet, if I remember correctly.

He was the best character in the Sega Megadrive Game anyway...

    Time for me to shine!
I met the man who voiced Shredder. Talk about schmoozing with the A-list!

I LOVED the turtles! I even have one of the annuals, at hand, ready to read!haha. Am just waiting for my money to add up to the price of a t-shirt off 80s tees.com
Don't know what it is, but I despise the new series!......they were like a religion! Can't imagine feeling the same about Power Rangers etc, glad I wasn't born a few years later!
