busy day for Motorola with new devices announced plus an agreement with Apple to bring iTunes to future handsets...

of note is their RAZR V3 handset, only 13.9mm thick (or 'thin' as they put it ;)), aircraft-grade aluminum, internal antenna and a "chemically-etched" keypad... with decent features also including a 2.2" screen, Bluetooth

    release info... - 'teaser' page

their latest clam-shell MS Smartphone the MPx 220 officially announced (after months off being unofficial), 1.23 Megapixel Camera, Bluetooth, Quad Band, Windows Mobile 2003 - they expect availability in Q4...

also late yesterday Apple and Motorola announced they intend to enable future Motorola handsets to sync with iTunes (PC and MAC)...

Great news for Motorola , some nice work by them.

Nice handset too. Think more and more people want soemthing which is indivdual to thier handset wether it be a feature or how it looks to give thier phone a WOW factor. SE already have this cracked. Looks like motorola are making good strides in that direction.

    Regarding Nokia.....

Yesterday, the S&P gave their opinion on them....

"Nokia, the world's largest mobile-phone maker, had its rating outlook cut from stable to negative on Monday by Standard & Poor's because of a "marked deterioration of its performance and prospects".

You can see the full story here

Nice to see the competition coming back into it

I've had two Motorola phones and they may look pretty but they must be the dumb blonds of mobile phones. Their user interface is so slow and they can't even get text messaging right - they use something called iTap when everyone else uses T9. In fact everything about the way they work screams made in the USA

This has to be one of the sexiest handsets ever. Much nicer than the new clamshells that Nokia recently announced.

It wasn't the N-Gage that hurt Nokia development, although fixing the things they should have got right first off cost them the N-Gage QD development cycle.
A bigger hurt was the 7700 getting cancelled. Major phone in a new media category, with a new Series 90 software. Got canned two months before release! Ouch!

My only problem with this phone, is that it only has two advantage over the v600 when you compare them.
    1. the internal screen
    2. its so thin if you were to turn it sideways you may never find

On the downside they have flipped around the answer/end call buttons to conform, but I much prefer the non-conformist (I have a v300, and before that a T280) and the price.
