Hi, running w2k, fresh install.. about 3 weeks ago
when the computer starts up I get
"Cannot find the file 'c:\windows\services.exe'.Makue sure the patch and filmname are correct and that all required librariers are avaible"

When I look at task manager, I see there is two services.exe taking up 40% & 60% of the cpu.
So I think these could be why my system kinda stalls, and the cpu is at constant 55-60deg
I've done the usual, scan for adware & av
    any ideas?

The real services.exe belongs in the winnt(or windows in your case)/system32 folder.

Looks like you have a nasty.

If c:\windows\services.exe has been removed (either by you or your virus scanner automagically did it) then further scans wouldn't find it. If it's trying to run at startup it'll give you that error message. Run regedit and have a look in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and RunServices to see if c:\windows\services.exe is listed there. Failing that, search the registry for services.exe and remove any instance of c:\windows\services.exe
Perhaps also backup the registry, or save the relevent keys, before doing any of this incase you bollix it up.
