Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The FA, Sven and the lie

The Football Association are said to be reviewing Sven-Goran Eriksson's future as national team boss following revelations of an affair with a secretary of the organisation.

English football's governing body suffered an embarrassing blow when the News of the World published details of an intimate relationship between the Swede and Faria Alam.

This comes after they spent all week denying the claims and threatening legal action.

On Sunday they were forced to admit to the affair, as well as admitting that chief executive Mark Palios also had a brief fling with the same woman.

A member of the FA board is demanding action after claiming Eriksson made them look like 'idiots'.

David Henson told The Guardian: "It makes us look like idiots because there was a denial and then we were told that it did happen.

"We are left looking like mugs and that can't be right. We have been left high and dry.

"There's so many questions to answer and we will be expecting those to be answered this week. For an outsider looking in, it doesn't paint a very good picture."

It would be quite something if Sven got the boot for a lie off the back of an affair rather than for bad football. Still it gives many in the FA the oppotunity they might have been looking for.

    Mike.

Why is Sven lying to the the FA. they must of asked him if its true so they could make a statement so why lie to the people who are paying you. But would this be on the front page if England had of won Euro 2004?? would there be people in the FA calling for Sven to be sacked if England had of won Euro 2004.....i doubt it.
The FA have looked like 'idiots' over this and i think if they can sack Sven without paying him £8million in Compo then they might just do that.
