Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cisse to Nou Camp - NOT

RICK PARRY last night revealed his astonishment at an audacious Barcelona attempt to lure Liverpool's record signing Djibril Cisse on loan.

The Anfield chief executive explained Nou Camp officials had made strong representation to take the £14m striker (right) to Spain even before he had kicked a ball for his new Premiership club.

Parry, who expects to complete the £2m signing of Malaga defender Josemi this morning, admitted he was left dumbfounded by the bizarre request of the Catalan club.

But as he dismissed the ludicrous proposal the Anfield official insisted Liverpool would not bow to any outside pressure to reduce their wage bill.

"There have been strong indications that Barcelona want to take Cisse on loan," Parry said. "The idea of us allowing a player we have spent that much money on to go to Barcelona on loan before he has even kicked a ball for us is just incredible.

"Why on earth would we do that? It is a sign of the times that they can even contemplate such a move for a player we have just spent a record transfer fee on.

"It's incredible, but we have learnt through agents that they are strongly interested in that. What does that tell you about the state of the transfer market when even Barcelona are trying to take players like that on loan? It's crazy."

Are they taking the piss or what? Are Barca that desperate?

    Mike.
