Yes, shocking stuff... Heads should roll...

but on a different note, who really cares who built the website as long as it works and looks well?

No-one in Cork could be found with the right skill level and experience to implement the front end of this system for the right price, unfortunately.

I find that very hard to believe.

thats disgraceful. Theres plenty of talent in Cork. I'm sure any website that could have been put together by a Cork based web designer would have at least been on par with their current website. They obviously didn't do any research into Cork designers before they made their decision.

"For the price" is I'm sure what knocked Corkonians out of the running. Most designers I've come across charge an arm and a leg for sites, but then again, you get the quality when you pay a premium.

I don't live in Cork at the moment and that site offers nothing but corporate blurb crap.

I want to see a photo of the new Pana, does anyone have one?

BULLSH*T.. Did they not even put this up for tender?? I know of 10 (off hand) contractor's out there in the city that charge next to nothing for website's at the mo. Betcha they only got quotes of the big companies like Insight Multimedia & Dragnet. And of course they're gonna price it high coz they've people to pay.

I know a few people who were thinking about going for it but were put off by the ad on the recruitment sites. They really did dress it up to sound like it was more hassle than it was worth.

Seriously. It sounded like they wanted someone who could do *anything and everything* rather than hire a few people who specialise.

OT: Are Dragnet considered a big company?

Oh right, they were acting the prats so coz the site is only a brochure site that anybody could have designed. Stupid management that don't have a club about design!!

I wouldnt consider Dragnet a BIG company but they're well known. They've a good collection of travel agents sites, thats all i know them for!

Just as a matter of opinion, who do you think are the biggest/best design companies in Cork??
