Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The long awaited newStadium to be built on stanley park has finally got the go ahead.

    Liverpool stadium approved

Liverpool have been granted planning permission to build a new 60,000-seater stadium in Stanley Park to replace their current Anfield ground.
The new £80m stadium will be built just 300 yards from the current ground.

Liverpool council announced the approval on Friday after an 0800 BST inspection of the new site.

However, the plans will be referred to deputy prime minister John Prescott for his approval due to the magnitude and opposition to the plan.

If the toffees get their way we wont have it at all!!

Why is it that building this exact same stadium in Ireland would cost approx. 3 times more?

It's meant to be completed for the 2006-07 season. We got planning permission this morning but I think there will be a few more battles over this stadium yet. Seems to be a bit of opposition to it. The most likely scenario is that Prescott will call a public enquiry into it.

Interestingly this is not being reported upon in many places within the english press. Read the papers here quite a bit and there is damn all mention of this. Hopefully prescott keeps is nose out, there are far more pressing issues for him to be concerned with.
