Eircom have a long history of turning on stuff like voicemail and call forwarding, especially when asked not to and charging through the nose for these unrequested services .... often after Biddy assures one that they have been turned off (again) . They also play havoc with modems but thats another story.

Comreg (nothing on the site yet but it was on the news today) have told them to rebate all the overcharging twice over. Simply Ring this number to get all your money back off Eircom

    1800 201027

any crap from them , mail info@comreg.ie who will organise it for you.

Eircom have admitted overcharging 31,000 customers which probably means 310,000 in reality. Story

Hopefully Comreg will tell them to advertise that number in the papers. It would be the right thing to do would it not ? Posters on this Board have been told in the past that Comreg could do nothing about this, nice to see the change of mind in there :D

If eircom have the records of who they overcharged, why aren't they proactively contacting those customers to offer them the rebate?

If they don't have the records, are they going to tell people that they have to prove that they were overcharged by producing 4 year old phone bills?

Comreg should report back in 3 months on exactly how many of the 31,000 customers eircom have actually given a rebate to!

Afaik they're contacting everyone that's been overcharged over the next week.

In the papers it mentioned, "after 2 customers complained"

.....complained to comreg or just complained to eircom/biddy.

If its the latter, one of those 2 people was probably me.

1: must check the bill to see if I got refund
    and
2: See am I due anymore
