A while ago I was asking about Plasma's here on the board for my dad well he finally bought one.

He is after getting a Panasonic Viera Plasma TV TH37PE30B
    http://www.panasonic.co.uk/plasma-tv/th37pe30b/index.htm

With the cabinet stand as in the picture and a Panasonic DVD recorder DMRE55EBS
    http://www.panasonic.co.uk/dvd-recorders/dmre55ebs/index.htm

For €4999.99 It seems a good deal for buying over here he got it in curry's and next to all the other plasmas the picture wins hands down the clincher was the quality of the picture and the contrast ration of 4000:1, at the time they where playing Lord of the Rings Two Towers.

Just to thanks to all those that offered advice and I can't wait for it to be delivered to set it up with the component inputs as it supports progressive scan.

Panasonic have a nice flash thingy on the main page of their website showing all the features of the TV.

Congrats on the plasma, a fine machine indeed! Component will make a huge difference to the picture. Also, its worth investing in a very good DVD player, your plasma is good enough to benefit from being fed an exceptional quality signal.
