Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric has claimed Premiership champions Arsenal have attempted to hijack his club's attempts to sign Michael Carrick.

Pompey had a club record £2.5million bid for the West Ham midfielder rejected earlier this week but Mandaric yesterday made an improved offer.

Mandaric said afterwards that he was confident the deal would go through and now claims the club had been given the go ahead to speak to the player.

Crystal Palace and Everton have also expressed their interest but Mandaric fears the the Gunners may have stepped in with a better offer.

Mandaric told Sky Sports News: "I am unhappy with the situation. We have worked hard so don't want anything to spoil the deal.

"He (Michael) knows Harry (Redknapp) and what kind of football he plays. That is one of the reasons he wanted to come to us.

"We are still expecting Michael to come down. We expect them (West Ham) to honour the agreement we have with them."

The Hammers have been resigned to selling 23-year-old Carrick since their failure to win promotion back to the Premiership last season.

How do you rate him? and who do you think he will go to? I haven't seen much of him as a player so not sure but seems to be rated highly!

Spurs, Norwich, Portsmouth, Everton and Arsenal all seem to be interested from differnet reports!

I doubt it 3 million would be out of Villa range, but I would love if he did come.

Arsenal have apparently pulled out of signing him.

Arsenal have withdrawn from the race to sign West Ham's midfielder Michael Carrick, although plenty of interest remains.
Carrick has been left out of the Hammers squad for their past two matches with his departure seemingly inevitable.

However, the favourites for his signature Arsenal are no longer in pursuit of the 23-year-old, which has left the race wide open.

Crystal Palace, Everton, Portsmouth and West Brom have all confirmed their interest in the player, while Tottenham are also believed to be watching the situation.

West Ham's boss Alan Pardew said last night: "The situation is simple with Michael. Arsenal came in and fell away, but he still has at least five clubs he can go to.

"The decision will come down to Michael. I didn’t think it was fair for him or the club to play him tonight, so we rested him again."
