Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cos i'm a nut for the guy. Saw him here on his Go Plastic tour and i'm the only person i know who loved his set. Then i saw him at Glade festival a month ago and he blew me away with his live bass playing. He played old classics like Dimotane Co, Rustic Raver, Come on myselector (strecthed out for 10 minutes) and Journey to Redham - as well as newer stuff off Ultravisitor and DYNS. He's the ****ing daddy and nobody else is doing what he does on stage .... and with all that energy and live bass. He's emotional, powerfull, dancey, angry, melencholic, happy, orgasmic, full on.

    Any other fans around?

Yeah, I think he's pretty great. I only have a couple of bits by him, the Do You Know Squarepusher double cd and the Hard Normal Daddy cd. Keep meaning to buy the new one. He kind of reminds me of Aphex Twin but if Aphex Twin was a hyperactive child with too much sugar in his diet.

I love him, but you need to be in the right frame of mind for it. because some of it is very harsh.
Do any of you know the song "we are reasonable people" i have it and the files says it was made by aphex twin and squarepusher? this could be a mistake but it really sounds like its them, its amazing when it kicks in. Also he was brave enough to attempt to cover Joy Division's "love will tear us apart" and actually pulled it off, his version is just amazing.

    God bless him!

That song "We Are Reasonable People" is actually called "Harman, Freedy and Willis Acid" off the album "We Are Reasonable People" (it's actually a compilation). And it is indeed them working together.

Just got the new 12" (Venus No. 17), the flipside of it has this absolutely amazing epic track called Tundra 4.

Squarepusher has done a lot of really good stuff but that Joy Division cover was terrible.

Also I thought his gig in Dublin (TBMC a few years ago, he's just played here once) wasn't that great at all, maybe he'll be better this time 'round.

Any Squrepusher fans out there might wanna check out Venetion Snares, he's playing in The Shelter on Saturday October the 2nd.

This time round? Is he coming back?????

And I liked his JD cover although I was expecting it to be less like the original. I think he did it justice and changed it just enough to make it worthwhile.

yeh... that Venus 17 single is a killer. Its exactly what a lot of Aphex fans were expecting off aphex, but Squarepsuher is right in there instead. I love the acid mix.

there was a rumour on a Cork messageboard that he'd be playing there in the Autumn. Early days though.

VSnare next month. Top class. You think Squarepusher is harsh?!!!!

Vnares is less about song narative than Squarepusher. He also has less thematic melodies but he pushes the jungle thing further. In the end i wouldn't even compared them. Its like trying to compare tennis and golf - so they both involve hitting balls!

    Looking forward to it though!

Sadly the VSnares live experience consists of him mixing CDs of his tracks together.

yeh.... saw him do that at ATP...... but he does it so well......!

Saw him in Dublin a while back, bit dissapointed he didn't get his bass out and i was fairly broke cuz i was at tool the night before which was amazing but that was a whole different ballgame. pretty mental but i liked it alot, maybe he'll get the bass out the next time eh!

V.snares is pretty headwreckin but clever i suppose, don't have much of his stuff to be able to judge tho. The cover of Joy Division was ok,he didn't do much with it though but its a pleasant end of album track.
