    I am quite new to body mods, but have researched hood piercings for a long
    long time and have decided that I WANT one - but -so much conflicting info
    on the pain..........
    Some say it hurts, others say it doesn't. I am assuming it will, without a
    doubt, but how does it compare to say a nipple piercing?
    I found it not that *quick* and quite painful for just a few seconds, sure,
    but would a vertical hood piercing be faster but sharper, so to speak? Agony
    for a split second ?Or a bit more drawn out like a nipple?
    And please tell me the benefits are as fantastic as I have heard.......

    was told by someone who has it its the second least painful piercing after your ear lobe, talk to your piercer

    A friend/ex of mine has a horizontal piercing, she said it was very painful (but well worth it!). I've heard that vertical piercings are a bit less painful, if that's any use. Could have something to do with a horizontal piercing making two holes but a vertical only making one? No eyed deer myself, there are a few boardsers who have them AFAIK.

    DID IT!
    Today, and I got myself all worked up for nothing. Really not bad at all.
    Nowhere near as painful as I had imagined. I am so proud of myself! Nipples
    hurt more to do, definitely.....
    I can feel the top bit, but not the bottom ball, (the important bit!)Top bit
    burns a little, but certainly not what I would call pain.
    Will I? Is it just because its so new? Such a pretty piercing, don't know
    why everyone doesn't get it done :-))
