It's been released for quite a while now. It only offers security fixes over 0.9.1.

1.0 preview release should be out this week (expected release date was today).

Hopefully the work that Moz has done to try get magazines to plug 1.0 of FF on CD's will pay off :)

These 2 places are great for finding out the new features:

i don't think they're planning on making much of a profit at all. Its open source. I'd say the "payoff" mentioned above is an increased proportion of users using firefox rather than IE.

It was meant to be out now, so sign of it yet. They won't release until they've fixed all their planned bugs and it seems there's 2 bugs left.

They have corporate sponsorship from IBM, SUN and Novell (Not sure about IBM & Apple!)who are happy to pump cash into the project as long as it offers a viable, open source, standards compliant alternative to IE/Outlook

0.9.3 was to fix a security bug that was present in both 0.9.1 and 0.9.2. It's good to see that they get the fixed release out so quickly.

The roadmap has always been slightly optimistic with it's predicted release dates but it should be relatively accurate as there are no big changes planned between 0.9 and the 1.0 release candidates.

Well Mozilla is actually registered as a not-for-profit org corperation - http://www.mozilla.org/foundation/

Yes I'm sure funding does come from big companies such as Sun, IBM and even AOL (as there still shipping Netscape builds based on new Mozilla code) alot of there funding comes from donations http://www.mozilla.org/foundation/donate.html

so if you really like Mozilla there's no harm in giving them some money ever now and then, :)
