draw distance?

well on my freinds comp you can see the terrain appear in front of you, but it doesnt do that on mine. So maybe it depends on your graphics card? or summit. I geuss this doesnt help at all. I notice the draw distance in T2 isnt great, terrain seems to appear out of nowhere and most of the missions are heavily fogged; i've played around with the settings and nothing seems to change, is this the way the game is supposed to look, or are my expectations set a wee bit too high?
