Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What does subscribing to a particular thread do? Send you notification of replies?

Yes, and if you post in a thread you are automatically subscribed.

For example after you posted your question I received an email, and now that I have written this, you will receive an email.

You're not automatically subscribed to threads unless you chose that option in your User CP-> Edit Options-> Default Thread Subscription Mode
