    bit off the trail, but going by your influences, try pick up some Rory Gallagher (if you dont already have some). He is one mean slide, acoustic and steal guitarist. He plays some great versions of Leadbelly, Blind Willie Johnson and has recorded with Muddy Waters on a couple of occasions. the Irish Tour album or the new Rockpalast DVD should give you some tips and techniques.
