yea I can't get a valid trace to any WON server.

wouldn't it be funny if they went out of business smile.gif

I tried pinging their WEST server and couldn't get it at all. Ditto www.won.net.

You probably already know this (I didn't last night) but apparently you can create a shortcut to the tribes2.exe with "-online" in the command line which bypasses the Sierra Update. I believe that this would have worked, tho I haven't tried it myself.

Thanks Kix but for some reason just as Tribes would normally fill my screen it just hangs and I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL out of it, and I know it normally works (a la timehud from PJ Scripts) frown.gif

There is now a fix available:

hmm wont let me edit posts, damn!

okay, the above fix is for HL, but the servers for T2 seem to be stored in "SierraUp.cfg"

This worked for me... (backup your sierraup.cfg first!)

    Replace :

    DirectoryServer "tribes2.west.won.net:15104"
    DirectoryServer "tribes2.east.won.net:15104"
    DirectoryServer "tribes2.central.won.net:15104"

    with :

    DirectoryServer "128.167.56.44:15104"
    DirectoryServer "63.251.143.210:15104"
    DirectoryServer "63.251.143.217:15104"

It effects people who auth'ed with the EAST server. regardless if you can see the other servers or not.

Apparantly they moved all thier servers to Boston from Arizona which caused the problem.

    I still can't log in though. frown.gif
