    Just got a message saying Windows had crashed, but with no other effect.

    That was after I rebooted into windows from Linux. Linux, however, wouldn't have touched the windows partitions. I've been using it over a month without any problem whatsoever. :/

    and to think I'm spending an hr a day downloading the service pack on2 my laptop 20% at a time (Dial up -....ZZZZ!) - with all the probs ppl are having don't know if i'll continue with it now!

    Fenster, what was the hex error code when you got the blue screen crash? It'll look something like 0x0000007b or something along those lines.
