I'm in the States at the mo, only dropping back to Dublin for a week.

Won't be in Texas until at least April, I did pass through it though a few weeks back (airport is unreal).

Well I'm assured that my PC's arriving tomorrow, although I'll believe it when I see it. I'm going to take out a months trial on one of the service providers here.
So do you have an ICQ number? So we could arrange some Ultima tomfoolery.

I don't have ICQ :/ think I might get it as a lot of people in UO use it.

Oh yea you have to get an adaptor for your machine for the power outlet. Don't know what or where, but someone I know going back to Dublin had to fork over about 100 quid for one.

Rev you can normally find me in Delucia. The other lands are just full of complete muppets (no offense furious<IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)">. The Brit bank is like a muppet gravity well.

Haa your friend was robbed. You dont need a power adapter since theres a switch on the power unit to turn it over to 110v, ofcourse as noted elsewhere forgetting to turn it back when you hit ireland can have nasty results.
I will of course have to change the plug <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/wink.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=";)">

you able to play on europa here ?

*bbbzzzzt* wrong answer <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)">

Actually I know two people who have had to do this. It's to do with the cycle rate or something. It's different to Europe. So while the 110V may work, it will **** up your CD-rom drive and some other stuff from working...

Could be wrong thou, maybe 2 wrongs makes a wrong <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)">

Let me know if your machine blows up, cause I wondering if I will have to get this thing or not <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)">

Actually you shouldn't have to, the power unit in most descent PC's is voltage setable, and note your PC runs on DC so the AC freq is removed. I've switched my PC over and everything works fine, just as it worked fine when we took a load of PC's from the US and set them up over in our european offices.

So no you dont need no boxs or stuff <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)">

so it looks like your mates should be making there way to a cop shop, and report they were recentky robbed.

Ok after chatting with him some more...

Friend A brought a machine back from the US, switched the Voltage switch on the back of the PC, looked at the monitor said "220/110" on the back but no switch... thinks to self "Cool! It detects it". Plugs in Monitor... Monitor blows up. Turns out there was a switch but you would of had to take the monitor apart. So he bought the converter then (after replacing monitor).

As for Friend B who heard about Friend A, he says he has gear he got in Japan which needs it as well, and not everything switches (PC/Printer/Modem/Stereo). I think that's his excuse anyway <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)">

Sounds to me like friend A had a faultly monitor, they are auto-sensing.

But on to more importent matters, you still playing on the pacific shard ? If so lets meet up.

I play on Europa. Little or no lag. I stay in the lost lands most of the time so I know quite a lot of people now... I don't know if I could handle leaving (especially after making 30K so far).

How's Europa for you?

Not to sure, I'll give it a go tonight. But I recon I'm going to be stuck with servers state-side, since my connection is been halfed, because I have to go though a hotel switch, I'm only getting connections around 24-26, eck. Then again I've maid service, free food, almost free drink, so I think I might just be able to bare it <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/smile.gif" WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":)">
