Last Saturday, I went to the Charlie Byrne Warehouse in Oranmore, Co. Galway. They have a rake of books at dirt cheap prices. And if you're an antiquarian book hunter, you could find some real gems.

I bought a 1934 edition of The Oxford English Dictionary for €1, and an out-of-date (but perfectly serviceable) Fowler's Guide to Modern English Usage for €7.

It's on every Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm in the Business park behind the Quality Hotel. When you're coming from Dublin, take the 3rd exit at that roundabout; from Galway, it's the first exit.
