    This from rte
Radio listenership figures for the year to June show slight falls for national stations and an increase in the numbers listening to local and regional stations.

The JNLR/TNS MRBI figures show that the reach - or 'listened yesterday' - figure for regional and local stations was 56%, up three points on the same period a year earlier.

RTÉ Radio 1 and 2FM fell one to 27% and 24% respectively, while Lyric FM was static at 3%. Today FM dropped two to 14%.

The best performing local stations were Highland Radio (71%), Mid-West Radio (68%) and North West Radio (68%).

In the highly competitive Dublin market, 98FM and FM104 were at 21%, the former falling one point and the latter rising two points. Q102, formerly Lite FM, added one to 11%, with Spin FM up three to 7%.

Newstalk 106 and Country 106.8 moved up to 4% and 3% respectively. RTÉ Radio 1 and 2FM dropped to 30% and 15% respectively in Dublin.

In Cork, 96FM County Sound added one to 51%, while Red FM dropped two to 16%.

    Mike.

I am mainly an RTE Radio listener, and Radio 1 at that. I am in Dublin, so very occasionally I would tune in to some of the other stations here.

Good to see Newstalk getting a rise, even a small one.
Spin's tactics with news and other things seems to be paying off, as does the rebranding of lite fm and country fm.

The localisation of markets seems to encourage the concept that there is still room for more dublin (and other county) licences, the two upcoming winners are sure to be encouraged by that.
