Im sure theis must have come up before but...

I want to hook my MP3 player in to the CD player in my car. Its a blaupunkt CD player (have to check the model but its the one that came with the Punto's). I know it can be a head unit for a boot CD changer so I assume it must have a line in. Iv heard before that some steroeos need a certain voltage on a control chanel before they open the input. ANyone got any links/tips/suggestions?

I have an Mp3 connector on my blaupunkt, its just a cable with a headphone pin on the end. I think you can get them in most motor stores.

Yeah I know I need the headphone for the mp3 but not sure about the other end...

This: http://www.mp3yourcar.com/ is cool but a bit expensive

There is a special connector for Blaupunkt stereos to connect an external device to them, it is a Blaupunkt specific connection with a standard headphone jack on the other end so you need to go to a supplier. They are not all that expensive, about €10 AFAIR.
Make sure there is a setting in the menu for AUX off/on, I think some only have an auto detect switch for a cd changer and are no good for other external sources

The other method is to get a small FM transmitter to connect to your mp3 player and just tune in your collection on the car radio. the advantage of that is there are no wires trailing from the dash

I know you don't drive a BMW but here's something interesting for those richer folk:
