Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

so the next step is to organise a place, a date and a time.

SO, is anyone a member of any astroparks?

What time suits any of the available?

What day suits any of the available?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41,926 ✭✭✭✭_blank_

I'm a member of the Astropark in Coolock alright.

I'm available every weeknight, with 2 conditions - I'm not workin the late shift til 10 and Shels aren't playing.

Every saturday pretty much suits, and sundays too.

Only days i can guarantee are tues/fri. Apart from that it depends on work.

Still really wanna do this :)

    TBH, saturday suits me best.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 921 ✭✭✭Shaque attack

middle of the week suits me best tbh, it'd also be dead handy if it was on the ucd astro turf for 3 reasons; cheap prices, plenty of pitches and its very handy for me to get to ;)

So er ... Any word on this yet?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,552 ✭✭✭✭GuanYin

I'm working approx 80 hours a week at the moment so I've not had time to think.

I'll have a look into the UCd pitches and getback with a price. Hopefully we can set a time and date and if the first one goes well we'll keep it running.

If anyone wants to look into the UCD thing (ie. if anyone is actually in UCD and can do that) then feel free to jump in and post the details.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 956 ✭✭✭midget lord

If it was out in UCD i would probably need a lift off someone, if that was possible. But sure we will see if it goes ahead first i suppose.

i know i trusted it for all of first year and it was the sole cause of me missing lectures (and possibly the fact that i was hungover most mornings)

if we were to play it in ucd wat time would suit every1?

I think the best thing to do is to is pick a place and time that suits yourself and then let everybody know, and if 10 people can agree to meet up at that time and place, well then Fanny's your aunt and all that......

Ortherwise you'll be going around in circles trying to please everyone. You only have to see when this thread was started. A month to the day, and still nothing has been sorted.
I find it hilarious that people are asking for lifts out to play!! C'mon lads, this isn't kindergarden!!! Use the bus!! (I'll probably get slated for saying that, but the reason why I'm being so harsh is because I had a team in the Astropark league this summer and sometimes it got to be a right pain trying to please everybody, giving people lifts, people not turning up, etc., etc.)

As I said, if somebody is organising it just pick a time and let us all know and we'll that it from there, otherwise we'll all still be talking about it after Christmas!!

I'm back rugby training Tuesdays and Thursdays so if possible can we have it any other day.

Probably some time after 7 would suit those in college/work better too as they may have to travel from a greater distance and my not finish 'til 6ish etc.

I know I'll most likely be coming from DCU which is the opposite side of the city.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

    Right so, heres my schedule.

I play football after work on a saturday from 5:30-6:30 in Aughrim street (North Circular Rd), so if its on a saturday itd probably have to be 8-9 for me , allowing for travel.

Sunday evening i usually play from 6-7 or 7-8 in the ESB complex in Ringsend, so itd have to be before 4 or so if its on a sunday

During the week i work till 6 in O'Connell street, so 7 would probably ne the earliest I could show.

    I live in tallaght btw

Is someone going to compile all the info?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,330 ✭✭✭✭Amz

Um, if people want to PM details of when they're available and stuff and I can liaise between Syke and Shaque Attack and try and come up with a time/day that suits the majority of people.

As i said i dont know what days suit me best so just give me a date/time and ill probably be there :)

It might not be the best of times for people wishing to watch their team in the CL. I certainly wouldn't miss my team playing in the CL unless I was forced to through work or something. Anyway, I'm not playing, just letting you know. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,503 ✭✭✭Makaveli

I'd be up for this too.
As long as the shockingly unfit are welcome.
Also UCD would be very handy for me.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 956 ✭✭✭midget lord

Wednesday doesnt suit me at all. Thursdays are a different story though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 921 ✭✭✭Shaque attack

it seems to me that mondays 7-8 or 8-9 would probably be the best time for most people. does that suit everyone? atm it seems like theres about 7 people interested for thursdays so maybe monday might be better
