XP - BF won't load

    Howya

    I have my new machine built (spec below) and BF fails to load. I get the following error dialog:

    "The instruction at "0x02\03943" referenced memory at "0x02a03943". The memory could not be written"

    I have installed the latest update to no avail.

    Has anyone any ideas???? I miss BF
    Windows XP Professional
    AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000
    MB - MSI K8N NEO Platinum Edition S754 nForce3
    1024MB RAM
    DirectX 9.0b
    RADEON 9800 PRO
    Realtek AC97 Audio

    hi,

    have you loaded service pack 2 ?

    if you have you can look up the games it will not support

    thats my 2pence worth

    yeah SP2 seems to be bad for nearly all apps , also you might aswell change yer thing there if i recall sp2 comes with directx .9c (its released anyway if its not in SP2)

    I have SP2 and bf1942/bfv etc are all working fine.

    Something wrong with your RAM , type that error in google of mircosfot knowledge base.
