Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We beat the Dutch away from home without Carr, O'Shea, Roy, Duff and Miller (if you can include him as a first teamer). I think we should still be expecting to beat the Swizz. Hopefully Kerr goes with Kavanagh and Holland in the middle (well in my opinion which everyone will obviously not agree with).

The last time we played Switzerland we Breen and O'Shea at centre half as well as a player who couldn't make the crumbling Leeds team, Harte. Colin Healy in the centre with an out of form Kilbane on the left and Duff on the right. Also, the worst forward partnership in a long time, Connolly and Keane up front. We're a lot stronger with or without Keane and the Swizz are a lot weaker.

HAHAHAHA - were we trying our best to loose that match or what?? :D

He came on for the last 25 minutes for Spurs tonight.

I cant belive Keano is out. this is out of the blue, i wonder how he got the injury???

Holland is also a doubt for the games so Kerr might go with Kavangah and Kilbane( that partnership was brilliant against Brazil ) in the middle.
Its a huge loss Roy isnt going to be there but as long Robbie is there then we will have a chance.

I think 4 points from the Cypus & Swiss game will be good but would love to get 6.

Fergie was angry after Roy played in a friendly match that was an internationel game , so he repeatadly kicked him in the ribs .

    Beckham was lucky ;) .

how the hell did he get cracked ribs?
is he gone brittle or what? Most boxers wouldn't get cracked ribs.

He did it in the first match of the season against Chelsea - but they only realised how serious it is now.

According to the ManU doctors if he doesnt take 3 weeks rest he could puncture a lung. Lucky timing for ManU with the international break. Pity for Ireland that the ManU doctors didnt decide he needed the break straight after the Chelsea game. I bet Roy is p!ssed, but its just bad luck and nobody can do anything about it.

The Man Utd injury curse strikes again.... what ARE they putting in the water over there?

Probably see a midfield of Kilbane and Kavanagh for the midfield now if Holland isnt fit.

Huge loss. We'll be doing well to beat the Swiss without him.

well NI got a draw in a friendly , and at times looked the better side , and Switzerland had a strong team out .

So I think we should beat them with or without a few players who normally start .
Once Cunningham plays and O'Shea isn't in the centre .

I don't think so...I think we have seen the best of Roy and we should have faith in the rest of the squad. I can't believe the papers making a big deal out of all this. Arsenal have being doing really well without Viera lately. I hope Kerr comes out and makes a statement cos this type of press can do little for the confidence for the rest of the squad.

I honestly believe the other players play better with Keane on the field in a competitive match, especially away from home.

    Matt Holland being one example.

What I think Ireland miss when Keane is not playing (apart form his playing qualities) is a person who is able to grab all the other players by the scruff of the neck and tell them to play better or we're not going to win this game. He's the type of player that won't except second best. In Irish performances without him I've always got the impression that no one else takes on that mantle. If the chips are down against the Swiss who's going to spur us on to victory?
