Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just received an email from ebay, telling me to go http://signin.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?SignIn&ssPageName=h:h:sin:US to confirm my account within 5 days.

I get to the screen and its asking for CC details et all. Is this just a good dummy page, I note its not a secure page, very un-ebay. I think I stopped myself in time???

Looks real to me. But I'm not very good at seeing these things.

Your description isn't enough to go on. Could be a phishing expedition, could be legit. If you really want to know, paste the source and the headers of the email here so we can take a look at it. In Outlook or Outlook Express you'll get the source by right-clicking on the body of the email and choosing View Source; if it ain't there, just Select All and copy the body (although if this is the case, it's unlikely to be a scam mail). To get the headers, go to View > Options and Select All the "Internet Headers". If you're using another mailer, tell us what it is.

You can see from the URL in the address bar that it's not eBay.

Went to that website. Tried a bogus login, didnt work. Tried my own one and got in. It's just the normal site! I searched in it, went to pay for some stuff I'm owed. It went to secure paypal.. Unless you got a different site emailed to u, or someone's hacked into the ebay server, I don't see the problem..

why not just go to www.ebay.com
sign in there and see if theres any account verification thing.
im paranoid about following links thru email.
at least main site cant be faked ;)

It is like the rule that you never give your Credit Card details to someone who rings you. You ring them first. Likewise, always be wary if you get an e-mail asking for your details. Visit the site yourself and do it. Common sense, but safe nevertheless!

    It's a SCAM

Just look at what's in the address bar of the screenshot ( http://211.233.58.106 )
The mail was not from Ebay, check the properties/source of the email, and I'm sure you will see it came from some mail server in Asia.

Also - see how the mail says ebay requires your credit card details to buy or sell? You do NOT need to give cc details to buy - after all, you can pay using whatever payment method you agree to with each seller.

Never sign in from a link you get through email. Just go to the main site and login, if you have to do anything it will ask you then.
