Thought about this idea, and not only could it work, we could do it in groups.

As you know they have changed gates so that once you pass through them you can't come back for a while.

As gating mages are the number one users of getting escorts. We all zero our karma then do the NPC messages looking for an escort. Mage comes along and loot them as they are casting gate or about to pass through it. By the time they realise they have been ripped off it will be too late.

I was going to post this on the thieves board but it seems since someone posted the URL on COB thieves have been getting ganked.
