jsp and mysql

hi

ive got tomcat 4.1 working on my computer and i have mysql aslo installed. my java applications work with mysql and i have sucesfully installed the mysql/connectorJ java library and I have it working.

I need to be able to write my jsp pages so that they can access the mysql database on my computer. I did this yesterday and it worked, but its not working today.

can anyone in here give me any ideas as to what to do. i have setup the classpath on my windows xp machine to include the connectorJ library. do i have to configure tomcat in some way and if so how can i go about doing this ?

are the files in the correct folder within tomcat? Do any jsp files work when you connect to localhost? Are tomcat & MySQL both started? What is happening now?

You need to look at the tomcat logfiles or the stdout from the tomcat console to see what type of error(s) you are getting.
