Im a big fan of books by wrox http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/

Try amazon, This link will help
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/202-9996115-3277413

The 3rd book down is one from wrox, its a very good book, quite long aswell, about 1400 pages

I've got ASP.Net Unleasehed by SAMS publishing. Very good book. I'd reccomend it

    "ASP.Net Unleasehed by SAMS publishing"
That is a good book alright. Get a hold of the starter kits from MS for good examples of how to structure the project and also it has a lot of examples of what you want to do as regards logins, grids, dropdown, etc.
I am self taught mainly from these kits
