Politics is a boring game. Some parties do well at attracting youth and enthuiasm. Instead of a who would you vote for poll. This is different. You might find your parties policies inovating and rational. But is it square?

SOme political parties are surrounded with men in suits and boring retoric about jobs, economy and 'off your back side'
Other parties talk about saving the world.
Some even claim they want revolution.

Don't vote for who you hate. Vote for who is dull, boring, square and unimaginitive, e.g. The PDs have balls when it comes to saying things like "An Unequal Society is Desired".

Fine Gael. Sometimes I forget they exist.

You'd swear that Pat Rabbitte is the opposition leader, but it turns out it's some bloke called Enda Kenny. :)

The two civil war parties. FF making the same old promises but not delivering, and Fine Gael who keep banging on about the need for the 2000 extra gardai, their politics only appeal to middle aged people.

Big deal, FF and FG have roots in the civil war.
FG are sure as hell unnoticed by most people. Enda Kenny does not appear to have many (or any) innovative policies on most issues. Pat Rabbite is a good opposition leader, I'm suprised Labour didn't increase their seat count in the local elections. One problem I have with them is that they want to borrow from the long-term pension fund.

PDs are a bit too right-wing IMO but they only exert large influence on one department (Justice). They're not very exciting.

Perhaps SF are doing well because they seem to be an alternative to the usual parties and is a more "populist" party.

Gandalf, perhaps the thread title is a bit simplistic but the idea behind it is IMO quite good and personally, I would like to see what people's ideas are on what constitutes an interesting party. After all, we hear of falling turnout to polling booths, especially among young people. This day, I see FF trying to combat this problem.

Which shade of paint is the most boring to watch dry should be the question!

Labour had a net increase of 20 seats in the local elections

I think it is actually an important thread. But to be honest, do we want our politicians to be non-boring (e.g. Screaming Lord Sutch) or do we want them to do their job?

Separate, but related is the pure populsiism of FF. They stand for little (alternatively, they have no principles) and will do anything to be re-elected.

PD's , seem the most boring to me .
They don't want to take risks and build us a stadium at a huge price , that will have gone way past the inicial budget , but instead would use the money on something more worth while  , whats more wroth while than a stadium , health ? , well ya , but thats just the boring route .

Do FF not stand for putting people back to work and reducing the burden of personal taxation?

No one could accuse people like Charlie McCreevy for not having vision.

Transforming the the savings, pensions and taxations systems. He is a politician of vision and conviction.

Bertie Ahern brokering the Good Friday Agreement and encouraging the likes of SF to fully embrace democratic priciples.
