    "Nihon Keizai Shinbun reported earlier this week that NTT, Fujitsu and the Japanese Government are forming a working group to develop internet technologies that will hopefully allow homes to receve 10 gigabit internet connections by 2010."

    That's a serious target , still years away but shows (on top of what they have already done) the government's commitment to building an infrastructure for the future.
