ok this is really getting on my nerves

i know its great ireland won a gold medal and all at the olympics but tonights skynews ireland bully was a total sham

20 minutes on cian o connors win

    2 minutes of sport

then about a min and a half on a litter report

    then into weather

its a half hour bulletin i think to spend 20 minutes on a single gold medal win is ridiculous

it is indeed. RTE didn't even give it that much time on their longer slot.
If you only have 30 minutes to cover all the days issues in the Irish spectrum, you cannot afford to spend 20 minute on 1 story no matter what... well, unless it was something big like Bertie quiting or the IRA disbanding etc.
No disrespect to Cian O Connors, but there was plenty of other news today, and reminding us all that we won a gold last week is one of the smaller stories of the day.

It amazes me that people think Sky News Ireland should actually be good to watch, as much as I hate RTE there news is still far better then Sky News Ireland and TV3.

I'm glad RTE are once again streaming there news on there site, dam olympics!

i know i think im all media savy like but i was surprised today by the article in the indo about how the irish sky news bullettin was put on to raise interest in irish companies advertising on the channels... i know its all profit esp for bsb but i was surprised it was so blatent, they said that on the main sky channels they have irsh specific advertising which they do the and the purpose of the irish sky news bulletin was to say to irish companies hey were providing a news service too irish people are watching this advertise with us!

i guess when you grow up with bbc and rte who don't that many add breaks betw their news you dont realise it, but i do presume the adds breaks around the 9 news are the msot expensive and most watched...
