    Hey Folks,
Looking for a Laptop for college which has the following:
    - Decent quality screen - dont mind if it's a 14 or 15" as long as it's good quality.
    - 512mb ram
    - Decent Graphics card
    - Ideally a centrino
    - Ideally Wireless LAN

budget of about €1000 but ideally as cheap as possible!

    Cheers
    Mark

Its a few months since I last priced laptops, but if you really want a Centrino with a decent GFX card then you'll have to up that budget. I'm thinking at least €1400, but I'm open to correction on that.

    Sorry.

Have you tried JES for a Laptop? They seem to start at around €800.

This, for example, seems to fit your specifications pretty much exactly, but you're going to have to pay considerably more for a centrino and a Radeon 9700 mobile (pretty much the only laptop graphics card that'll play the latest games well), if you are planning on playing any games on it. If not, though, the above should suffice.

Aldi have a decent laptop tomorrow for €1500 - Centrino 1.7 with 512mb ram, ati 9700 128mb graphics, 80 gig hard drive, wlan, firewire, usb2.0, dvd burner, etc.

Why spend €1500 on a laptop from Aldi?

Get a Pegasus Ti for the same price but with a 3 year warranty

Maybe im doing something wrong here, but I cant find a similar spec laptop to Aldis for €1500. The nearest spec I found on this website was PTI-1.8 £1234.00===1,818.98 EUR

I think paying €320 for an extra 2 yrs warranty might be worth it for some.

Does anyone know if you can buy extended warranty for Gericom?

The gericom laptop comes with a 2 year collect and return (1 year less than rock) plus it comes with 2 years damage and theft insurance which the rock laptop doesn't have.
