thought someone might enjoy reading of my latest adventures
i was in minoc today with my horse, alcoholic. training to become the best thief the world has ever known.
im at 59.7 steala nd 63 snoop)
anyway, i saw this guy, cant remember his name, but he was selling ignots and lockpicks.
i wanted to raise my lockpicking skill, so i went and asked about the prices.
he was selling 100 for 1k, which is pretty good, but i dont make money with this char, i just train all the time.

so, i was talking away to him, when he said something about my cap.
"thats a really nice cap" he said.
"really? thanks, i love it too"

"would you like to trade it? or sell it?"
hmmm, i stood there stupid for a moment, trying not to look a gift horse in the mouth....

"ill give you 100 lockpicks for it..."

****ing hell i thought, whats this guy on???!

although i play a thief character, as he scrolls tells you, he is only in the profession cos its the only thing he can do best.
or something like that.

"ooh, but i like it, it keeps my bald head warm" i said

at this point i decided that i WANTED THOSE LOCKPICKS!

"where did you get it?" he asked.
i thought for a moment, then, as a true thief would say...
"em..off a friend"
i lyed through my teeth, i had just bought it in the provisioners in minoc for 28gp.

anyway, we traded, and i stood there for a sec to see what he done.

sure enough, a big "AAAAH ****" appeared over his head.

"a 30gp cap!!"
"1k for a 30gp cap!!" he shouted.

anyway, i offered to give him back 50 lockpicks, and tried a few times to give hima bit of gold
but he didnt want it

he said "i was rightly conned, you deserve it"
well, in my opinion, he conned himself

then, with my other character...
i was up north of yew hunting ettins and trolls and elementals with my new spear of vanq
anyway, i was fighting about 5 orcs, and was a bit stuck, although i was beating them...
this guy walked by me, and he tried to steal from me, knowing i couldnt do much about it.

needless to say, i quickly forgot about the monsters, and on horseback, chased the scoundrel through the woods, he tried to recall.....but fizzled
WHACK...and he was dead...my first human life taken.
surprisingly, for a thief, he hd loads on him.
loads of cool runes and jewels and clothes and regs...
so i took some of it, i recalled to a rune marked "all you want..."

it was a real big vendor place, in the middle of nowhere.
anyway, i went in, and he was selling recall scrolls, 400gp for 10, thats ok, i thought, and decided to buy some.
then i noticed the bag that they were for sale in was marked for 1596gp
now, this was obviously a stupid mistake on the part of the owner.
but i couldnt resist.
215 recall scrolls for 1.5k, thats over 8k's worth
wont need tos tock up for a while....do i do feel a wee bit guilty.
ah well, he had a huge house with about 10 vendors....
he was rich anyway

and to be honest, i wouldnt mind some pvp training
cos i dont have a clue, and im getting to the stage where i could stand a chance fighting back, but i dont cos i dont know what to do.

so if anyone wants to meet for a duel...
not to the death of course, and provided nobody robs my precious spear
its my prode and joy!

Never carry more then your prepared to loose and show no fear.

After that unless it's a professional PvPer most people run at the first sign of an attack (or unless they follow those rules).

Never train with that spear. Unless you plan on killing them.

Try going to one of the player towns, they have training halls in some of them. But be a bit careful I hear they're popular with certain thiefs

Last time I saw Venom he was in the bank in Vesper, I was about to walk up to him and he recalled out. Before that I was pretending to be a kidnapped NPC outside Delucia waiting for some muppet to attack me (so I could kill them).

i saw one in a town somewhere....
cant remember where jhelom maybe.

if i go in there i can duel people and stay blue and they cant loot?
something like that?
that would be cool!

also, where are all these famous player run towns...
i think i found deepwater
thats where i got my magic spear, is that the place north-east-ish of yew...through all the forests?
there was a fountain there...thats the only thing i remember
i saw an elf village once, near where i used to live...

so can someone fill me on on these halls?
and where to find one..
