Goodmans DVD Player with DivX

    I bought this for the g/f fairly spontaneously after I saw it in Jervis Centre for €89.99 the other day.

    It has DivX and built in 5.1 surrond amplifier which I thought was a great package for €90 and it looks damn sleek too! So far I haven't seen any other DivX player in any other shop. I was in Harvey Norman yesterday and I had to explain to the generally knowledgable Aussie salesperson what DivX was cause he hadn't heard of it on a dvd player before!

    Still, I've played round with it a good bit by now and it is very impressive for such a bargain price.

    try the thread about the philips dvd player. its €99 and does the same but its Philips!! Got to be better than Goodmans and only a little more expensive.

    Whats the surround output like... Would like to replace the folks sony dvd/surround player. Its cack tho cause it plays nothing but opriginal cds

    Clown Man, just a quick question which I'm hoping you may be able to answer for me. Does that player play DVD-R/-RW's, by any chance? Have you tried it with any? The reason I ask is that I've done a bit of Googling on that particular player and everything that's come up suggests it only plays DVD+R/+RW's. Just wondering if it'll do -R's as well, that's all.
