There's a bus leaving from Store street at 10 that arrives in Waterford at a quarter to 1. DUnno about return journeys because buseireann.ie is soooooo slow

there's also a train leaving heuston(I think) just after 9am, as far as I know, and a return journey at around 6pm.

Tis a short enough walk but also a long enough walk. It's not 5/10 minutes anyhow. Probably quickest just to cross the bridge nearest Bus Aras and walk straight down to Trinity, walk around it then up Grafton Street. It's walkable for sure but if you've much bags/other you'll not be the happiest bunny when you get there.
