Have you any problems if you start it in safe mode through the start menu? If not, try uninstalling your extensions one by one while in safe mode.

Otherwise, try uninstalling it, going into C:\Program Files and deleting the Mozilla Firefox folder if it's still there. Then go into C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Application Data\Mozilla and rename the Firefox folder to Firefox.old .
Re-install Firefox and see how it goes. If it works and you're installing extensions do so one at a time and try running it for a few minutes after each one to see if the problem returns.

    Very strange.
It's dodgy right after a fresh install?
    Any extensions you're installing?

I've had no problems with firefox, used to be a diehard opera user but have switched to firefox completely now.

"I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced."

Did you try completely uninstalling Firefox? It stores extension/theme info in <drive>:\Documents and Settings\<usr>\Application Data\Mozilla

This folder isn't removed when you uninstall Firefox, so try deleting that also.

to uninstall firefox completely you have to change the folder settings in windows explorer. open windows explorer, tools, view and tick show hidden files and folders. then you can go to c, documents and settings ,your user name/ application data , mozilla and delete the firefox folder. you should do this after the uninstall and your new install will be just that , new !! remember to back up your bookmarks before you uninstall and its plain sailing ater that . good luck !!!!

Will try those later , there is one extension that wont go away , methinks its that one.

DOM inspector i dont recall getting it , i only used the download manager and a TAB thingy. It wont be removed for some reason.

DOM Inspector installs by default when you install Firefox.
