Muds just use a telnet client.
There's one with windows/fridge/whatever you're using.

Take a look at the MUD threads here, and try the netshop's new mud.

mentioned it in the other thread ,but www.runescape.com is quiet good ,runs in the browser (so its good for lunchbreaks at w*rk;> )
