Why does every one say theres only 9 galaxy class ships JUST because a non cannon book says so ? theres a lot of evadence to suggest many many more galaxys where built such as at lest 4 (if not more) galaxy class ships being involed with every battle in ds9 then theres Endgame


Are people trying to suggest that nearly EVERY single galaxy class in the federation fleet were stationed at earth or just 20 mins from earth dureing the end of voyager ? theres clearly many more galaxy class ships with more being built all the time (ala voyager's ep where they showed mars shipyards with at lest 1 galaxy class being built) and the best evidence click

Anyone suggesting the sovy is a replacement for the galaxy should be slaped as well

In DS9 season 6 episode 6 (for those that dont know its the battle to retake DS9)
Sisko on the bridge commading the battle says have galaxy wings 31 and 36 move in closer they need more cover fire and tell captins deago and rellends to stay alert they may try to outflak us.

so if there where only 10 galaxys they would mean that there is less than 5 galaxys in a wing and the federation devoted 100% of there galaxy fleet to one battle.
also the battle took place without the federations 9th fleet. The 9th fleet was responsible for defence in the eaqrth/vulcan area. that would mean there where no galaxy ships in the 9th fleet if there where only 10 galaxys in the federation
Also we see at lteast 10 galaxys in the battle in DS9 606

Urm.. that second pic in your post is a load of bull tbh cus that's from an ep where loads of dimensions merge together and lots of different enterprises appear in the same star system.

when he said galaxy wings attack, those where just wings of ships led by galaxies, the bulk of the ships in that battle were miranda, norway, akira, steamrunner, marauder and excelsior class.

in all there was supposedly 300 commissioned galaxies by the time the sovereign rolled out to replace it, the big thing about that war is the diggerence of the federation fleet from just 5 years of intense building.
at the time of wolf 359 the federation fleet was close to 1000 combat vessels, by the time of first contacts battle with the borg and the dominion war there was closer to 9000.

The sovy can not be the replacement for the galaxy class it has a volume less that half that of a galaxy class and is clearly a warship not a explorer the "true" replacement for the galaxy class wont ever be seen sadly.1000 ships seems quite low as well think about it the USA navy has 300 ships just for one small country where as the federation has 8000 light years of terrorty to defend against at lest 3 hostile forces at their borders (cardies romulans breen) seems very unlikely starfleet could do this with only 1000 ships i like to think the federation has around 30,000 ships before the founders war and around 15 - 20,000 after which wouldnt be that hard considering most feddy ships seem to have hull lifes of over 100 year's.

300 galaxies seem's a bit much as well 100 or less would be my guess

If the federation had 1000s of ships around wolf 359 how where te only able to pull together 50 odd ships for that battle

The feds space is vast at warp 6 normal cruiseing speed for fed ships it would take 20 years to cross the federation ever at warp 9 with 5 days (and if you follow the stardates the 2 eps took part with in 3-4 days ) warning the federation could only call in ships from a 10 light year radius pushing the galaxy class engines it could reach warp 9,7 (12 light years in 5 days) but only for 1 hour and it was stated as beeing the fastest ship in the fleet at that time so its not suppriseing that dureing peace time very few combat ships where close enough to earth to help with so little warning tbh

Yes but remember Shelbe said "we will have the fleet back up in under a year captian" explain why the loss of 50 ships would even be worth of mentioneing the fleet will be back up if there is coutnless thousands of them

Er 50 ships = a fleet no matter how many ships you have all that line proves is they can build 50 ships in less than a year no bother "we will have the fleet up" would mean they will have the wolf fleet back up in under a year not starfleet :rolleyes:

I fully believe that there are not to many Galaxy Classers out there maybe twenty. I cant remember the episode of hand but its the one where they meet Nagelim. They encounter the USS Yamato which happens to be the sister ship of the USS Enterprise. Meaning that at the Time of that episode there were only Two Galaxy Class Ships in Existence. Now this episode if memory serves me correctly is not to far away from the battle of Wolf 359 Episode. So unless they went like the Clappers after the Battle there really wasn't to many of them in existence.

Sister ship means it was built at or around the same time as the enterprise also there would have to be at lest 3 galaxy's built at that time the Uss galaxy Uss enterprise and Uss yamoto also the fact they wherent any galaxy class ships in the wolf fleet proves nothing tbh galaxy class ships are explorers they would of been off exploreing

Dont forget about the USS Hamandcheese and the USS Frieswiththat, both of these were Galaxy class supersize replacements built on Stardate meaningless numbers.
