Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have most of the ECW releases on DVD or video (including that one). Around '99 was them at their best, if you ask me. Their best show (in my opinion, based on what I've seen) was Anarchy Rulz 98. Check out the RVD Vs Jerry Lynn match at Living Dangerously 99, that was truly awesome. The problem with ECW was match was psychology was hard to find in many cases, so it can be a bit frustrating to watch.

Yes ECW was great . WWE IS THAT THE WORST PERIOD OF ITS LIFE NOW . When wwe comes on change channel go to NWA TNA, Ring of Honour or CZW. The wrestling on these are the best around today and the best around for a long time .

Cannonballkid, I absolutely disagree with that. WWE are nowhere near their worst right now. Their IC champ, for instance, is Chris Jericho. At Wrestlemania 13, the IC champ as the completely hated babyface Rocky Miavia, and he was defending his title against the Sultan. Also, their world champ was Sid!!! How could anyone say that things are worse now?

Right let me see Do i want Sid or JBL let me see . Sid the champ or Jbl the chump . I think sid was better. mania 13 had bert hart vs Stone cold steve austin one of the best matches of all time and now we have JBL vs Undertaker in a Last Ride Match . I THINK WWE IS S**T . Dont get me wrong the talent is great(expect JBL). Jericho is great. But story lines are s**t come on lita and kane storyline to last 7 or 8 months and matt hardy is out. WWE IS really bad now . Lets hope whatever vince has to say on RAW can change or stir things up in the WWE

Wrestlings been on a big downward spiral in the last 5 years. Psycho Sid was alot worse than JBL..JBL pulls off his character very well in my opinion

Wrestling is as good as it ever was!!
Its just we now have more variety and we can see where the wwe is making mistakes thanks to the likes of ROH!!

I was a big fan of ECW, there use of certain wrestlers was amazing, but for every Storm Vs. Lynn @ Anarchy Rules 99' there was 10 hundred rubbish sandman matches or raven matches to have to sit through...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,057 ✭✭✭Wacker

Lance, that was a great match, wasn't it? Why was it opening the curtain though?!? And why was Balls Mahoney Vs RVD the main event over Tanaka Vs Awesome Vs Taz?

The thing about ECW was that those Sandman etc matches would probably have been great to witness live, due to lots of brawling in the crowd and weapon spots. They are really crap to watch at home though.

i agree with the sandman having rubbish matches but ravan was is and always be a great wrestler and always had great matches. RAVAN wwe biggest mistake

    Do you honestly belive that??
I cant think of one good match he's had ever, besides Raven Vs. Rhyno for the hardcore title, but that was cuz of Rhyno!!

All this rubbish about his psycology is bollox aswell!!
    He is extremely unimpessive!!

I've seen some ECW, and always thougt it was alright ... but nothing amazing ... the one thing they did do well was to instil some weird sense of hardcore loyalty (fanaticism) into their fans.

It seems that no matter how good wwe will get, it will never compare to ecw, not even to ecw at it's very worst, for some people.

For wwe (and pro wrestling in general) there's been huge changes in the last 5 years or so, and the industry is still trying to balance itself out.

So .. if you don't like it ... don't watch it.

ECW is now in the past, as good as ecw fans think it was, it still failed.

Only good match outta those 3 was the CM Punk match, and thats only cuz Punk rules and he is clearly better than all of us!!

Good point, for some people they look at the past with rose tinted glasses, itl always be better than todays product, regardles of wether it is or not!!

But it is worse They are even bringing back old storylines...which I guess is good for the fans who are new to wrestling but what about those of us who have already seen a reflection of perfection or an Undertaker.I don't however feel the way to go is by trying to recapture what they(WWE) used t0 have I think they should dump the family market and aim towards their already huge Demographic 18-35's.

I'd imagine the big problem is that the huge 18-35 fanbase that they have is diminishing at a good pace, and they have to try and get younger fans in.
