Are there any routers with traffic shaping out there for less than €200? Anyone know where they can be bought in Ireland, and has anyone had any experience with setting them up.

    Thanks

One avenue could be a Linksys WRT54G with a freeware firmware that supports traffic shaping. Linksys's firmware is open source so people add features to the routers. I think Sveasoft's firmware has traffic shaping, but have no details or experience with it. A WRT54G is about €100 and supports 802.11G and the usual router features.

Hmm - that's interesting. A quick google turns up this. I don't have any need for traffic shaping at the moment, but knowing that the Linksys gear would allow me to do it if I needed to might well influence my future buying decisions!

    Thanks!

Yeah, I'm pretty much sticking with Linksys for that reason. You can also get firmware with better SNMP support so it works with MRTG for traffic stats.
