Looking to get a list of obscure songs that are never played on radio but should be....

Equal kudos points for relatively unkown artist (e.g "pretty good day" by Loudon Wainwright III from the album Social Studies)

or relatively unkown song by popular artists (e.g. Calico Skies by Paul McCartney from Flaming Pie)

are two songs that were 'hits' and never seem to be played on t'radio...both dead good as well, btw and kinda adhere to the rules of catchiness, tuneful, lack of use of the word cnut or fcuk in the lyrics...

Excellent idea for a thread and still very relevant.

I recently watched the film 'Searching for Sugar Man' about Sixto Rodriguez.

I never heard of him until I saw the movie. I love these songs in particular.
    • Rodriguez - Cause
    • Rodriguez - Sandrevan Lullaby – Lifestyles
    • Rodriguez - Street Boy
    • Rodriguez - Sugar Man

Is there a site where you can listen to random obscure music from all genres and years?

Maybe not that obscure but I love: The Zombies - Time of the Season (1968)

I would have started a new thread with the same title but why when this one is still relevant.

There's a whole load of "hidden treasures" out there - great songs by popular artists that are tucked away and relatively unknown.

    Like:

    1. The Beatles / Super Furry Animals - Free Now
    2. U2 - Levitate
    3. Nirvana - Oh, The Guilt
    4. Pearl Jam - Down
    5. Pink Floyd - Give Birth To A Smile
    6. Air - Run
    7. The Breeders - Doe
    8. Smashing Pumpkins - Glynis
    9. Blur - Mr Briggs
    10. Velvet Underground - The Gift
    11. Bjork - Cocoon
    12. Stone Roses - Something's Burning
    13. Beatles - You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)
    14. Sigur Ros - Dauoalogn
    15. Jan Hammer Group - Don't You Know
    16. Charlotte Gainsbourg - 5:55 or The Songs That We Sing
    17. Chicago - I'm A Man
    18. Dire Straits - Lions
    19. The Eagles - Witchy Woman
    20. Genesis - Firth of Fifth

That's just a few I can think of. If you wanna talk about obscure bands as a whole, there's loads of those...

"Forgotify" is a Spotify app that only plays songs that have never been played on Spotify before - that's pretty obscure.
