Right, bored so decided to set up a chatroom channel for Trinners.

Couldnt use #tcd or #trinity cus they're both taken by a bunch of mongs.

so its #tcd.ie

i'll have an irc applet up by the end of the night for those of you who dont know how to use irc.

It'll probably get a bit of down time over the next few days while i get it running reasonably decently.

will shove up one that works over a firewall too in a few days so we can sit in the computer labs and chat

oh and if there are any serious issues you notice with it, post em on here.
and by that i dont mean "i dont like the colours" i mean "will not connects".

And if it doesnt load in IE for yeh it would seem to be your Java Virtual Machine, from what i can tell.

You could just download it from www.mirc.com install, navigate to the quakenet channel, voila

type /server uk.quakenet.org <---seems to be the most reliable
wait til its connected
/join #tcd.ie

EDIT: I'll see how things develop and then sort it out. if you intend to use the channel much i'd say best bet is to get IRC and to set up an auth with quakenet (check www.quakenet.org to see how to do this)

It wont work from within the college - but i assume you have signed up for a matrix account? you can run irssi there and connect through - or i'll shove a cgi applet up soon - when i have got some of the alcohol out of my system from this week.

you can't see what blocking thingy?
College is entirely firewalled off with limited proxies to escape it, for http, and ftp.
Some new thing supposed to be comming in to slacken external access for pop3 and imap but dunno if its in....

ign.ie tends to have full up problems a lot of the busier times of the day.
