Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Funny to read back over this thread and see how hopelessly wrong I was about Duff and Mourinho :D

    lol.

i heard oin the radio this morning that Rafa *thinks* harry is unfit, but isnt really sure.

you know thats not a good sign when your manager publicly expresses those sort of feelings about a player.

Its the "declaring himself unfit" that bothers me, if I were a manager I'd want the whole flipping medical room to have an opinon not just the player.

    Mike.

I've lost patience with Kewell. Even when he does play he's not consistent enough. We should sell him in the summer. He's had enough time to prove himself.

Kewell is a bloody disgrace. Simple as that. Ship him off to the schoolboys league.

Think he gets 67,000 a week at present what a waste of money !!!. He should never play for liverpool again after the way he acted this week.

opr: I feel the same way. He's been taking the piss for far too long, considering the astrnomical wages he is on.

His agent has had this to say:
"Harry is the sort of person who has got to where he is because he has always had high expectations of himself, and he still does have," Mandic told BBC Radio Five Live. "I don't think there could be anyone who is more disappointed about the way things are going than Harry."

He added: "This is without a doubt the most frustrating spell that he has ever had. Since November 2003, let's be frank, he has not done anything.

"He's not hiding behind that and I'm not hiding behind that.

"But what is he meant to do? If you have a contract you should be paid and I would hate to see someone not being paid.
Would you simply walk away? That's ridiculous.

"It's been since November 2003 that he has had the problem and it's up to the Liverpool people to sort the problem out."
Oh yeah, it's all Liverpool's fault.

    Come back next season

    would it be worth it?

I'd have to say I'm prepared to wait until next season for HK. For someone who has been dogged by niggling back & leg injuries over the last year, it was really only rest & physio that has started to work on me.
Lets give him the benefit of the doubt, if next year he hasn't cut it, then let him loose.

I almost has a heart attack when i seen him coming on last night. I stand by what i said earlier in this thread and I really don't think he deserves another chance !

But always at the back of my mind is remembering how he used to play at leeds and if only he could recapture that form. The thing is so many of houllier buys have blossomed under bentiez maybe he can get the best out of him.

Still i think it was so wrong after all the hard work other players have put in this season to see him pull on a Liverpool shirt in the semi finals of the CL. Whatever about next season and giving him another go i don't think he should be given the chance to play in a european cup final after the season he has had. (Thats if Liverpool get to the final )

afaik it was his misplaced pass put alonso under pressure where the yellow card was conceded. Whats more he Gudjohnsen was running into a position which had been occupied by Biscan for the entire evening.

You're right -he didn't deserve to play last night. And watch him play for Australia this summer.

Maybe hes making a good impression on Rafa in training? That could be one reason he played...

Rafa sent him to Spain a few weeks ago to see a specialist physio with a view to getting him on the pitch for 15 minutes of football in the first leg of the semi-final.

You'd have to question the guys mentality imho.

Apparently ever since he's been at Leeds Kewell insists on taking a trip down to London every 2 weeks to get his hair cut because 'they don't do it right up north' or some such nonsence.

You might see where he's coming from except he currently comes back looking like a poor mans Luis Garcia ... and it's not as tho that was too hot a cut to begin with!

well he's starting the game today. Piece on liverpoolfc.tv from him thanking the hierarchy for their support - he claims to be running without pain for the first time in a year. and other such.

I'm still waiting for him to prove himself, though many in Anfield may have lost their patience already.

Bannor - any idea what Benitez makes of him, not in terms of teh enigma so much as whether they're going to continue to be patient. I was surprised by what you were saying about putting that much work in for him to appear for 15 mins in the CL semi
