    I'm old enough to have flirted with the Internationalists,who were mosty Trinity Middle-class Maoists, with a shop on Pearse St, which was often attacked in the late 60's.

    and they would have read Mao's famous Little Red Book.
    One of the Chairman's more famous remark was 'Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun',
    These guys still believe that'liberty' , or at least their current definition of it, can be imposed by force of arms on an unwilling populace.
    Close enough, no?

    Militaristic but surely not big into land collectivisation.

    Mind you, Iraq is just one big land redistribution programme. You may have a point! :D

    Oh but they are, it seems.Why, they even got practice. Their Israeli branch have at the land redistriution down pat.
