Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

ive just got sky+ and it has replace my old sky box

i put on a quad LNB my self but im unsure about it

i looked up service then with in to signal test

and there i saw that the input one is very low like 1 quater full
and then the signal quality is very low to

with my old box it was much higher

is my sky+ box just like this today because of the wind and rain

or did i do somthing wrong with setting up the LNB

Your problem may lie in that the large quad lnb is pulling the lnb arm on the dish down twoards the ground, thus causeing it to loose signal strength ;)

Check you cable connections at both ends, even a strand of wire on the copper can detract fom picture & signal quality.

Also check the skew setting on the lnb, which may need adjusting.

It should be set to 2 if memory serves me correct.

the picture is perfect its just im worried that i did it wrong [setting up the LNB]

what do you mean by skew

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 815 ✭✭✭mickeyboymel

There is a row of numbers on the collar of the LNB which relate to the angle the LNB is fixed to the arm of the dish.If you set it to 2 you will notice that the main body of the LNB appears slightly tilted to one side when you look directly at it from the front, rather than appearing totally vertical, this is the skew setting.

There are four connections on the LNB. try the cable in each one. Perhaps the LNB itself is faulty? Can you bring it back and exchange it, and try again.

im having this problem when it rain heavy the tv gets a bit fuzzy the when it drys the signal is great
could the problem be the lnb

problem is probably water getting into the signal path. when dry, re-work the connections on the cabling and wrap with tape to make them as water-tight as possible. will make a difference - it's a very common problem.

Dish alignment most likely the problem
