ADOM and it's...... corruption!

    ADOM and foul corruption!

    Oh woe is me! My fine human priest whose experience is a slight under 1 million pts of experience in the wonderful world that is ADOM. He has reached level 22 and is confident, though not too surly, of his abilities. He has spent a lot of time learning the quests upon the land but hast wasted much time beyond a certain number of days and now is on his 110th day.

    My question is... is it too late for my character? Note this is my best performance to date and I would like to keep him alive as long as possible. This is not save scummed. I have made backups in case of crashes but other than that this is a genuine travel into the unknown.

    The good news first:
    I have reached mastery at swords, shields and slings and have a DV/PV of 49/35 and using the sword of nonnack.

    Terinyo:
    Did The Village Dungeon, Jharod and Yrrigs (wished I did Guth'Alak's instead for corruption potion).
    Tywat Pare: Killed Holtezenplotz
    The tiny girl : got the dead puppy back

    Lawenilothehl:
    Yergius: Learned all his skills
    Hotzenplotz and his guards: Killed

    The Small Cave: Went to the small cave and went to Unremarkable Dungeon.
    The High Mountain Village: Came here and found 1 scroll of remove corruption (my only one).

    The Infinite Dungeon: Went to level 1 to 9 several times. Ventured to level 11 for awhile. Accidentally read
    a book at that corrupting level several times and got 2nd corruption.

    CoC:
    carried out all the quests in Dwarftown and carried out all the quests here. Have not got the benefits from Mystic Dwarf as I'm not neutral. I'm strongly lawful and not pre/crowned. Far too many artifacts at this stage. Must be about 7 or 8 now.

    The Old Barbarian's glade : Got courage
    The Dwarven Graveyard: Did this and got the sword.
    I missed the Pyramid and Kranach quest.
    The Gremlin Cave: Did this.
    The Assassins' Guild: Killed the Assassin Prince
    The Tomb of the High Kings: Got the ring for later
    Khelavaster: Failed to save him. As deep as I have gone in the Coc.
    Darkforge: Did 1st level... found steel golem tough! Back later!

    I guess this is where I need to go next (gulp!)

    To the least a few problems now present themselves....

    Problem #1:
    I am finding it very very difficult to increase DX from 15. My dex is actual 21 -6 = 15 (max potential is 24). In Dwarftown I paid have Garth and Training. Should I be paying him based on a DEX of 15 or 21 or beyond? The scale in the guide is: 21-25 8400 - 10000gp (400x). I'm guessing I should be paying 8,800 gold.

    I'm concerned about dex since I am skilled at slings and bows. I also know that corruption will massacre this later on. So concerned about this I locked off an area with a door for gremlins with a water trap. I have killed 3200 gremlins so far to get as many water potions attribute potions as possible. I'm meeting extremely experienced Gremlins:
    You examine the gremlin. Diagnosis: Level: 43, DV: 45, PV: 8, Hits: 167,
    Attacks: 6, Damage: 15-17. Speed: 96.
    - Still can kill by melee or easily scorch. Seems to be every 3rd or so gremlin I fight. The rest are level 3 or so.

    I haven eaten blessed mareilon herbs (4-8 at a time) and waiting in between. I thought this might be easy until it reached 25 but to no avail. I fight a lot using slings (60%) fighting (20%) and magic (20%). I'm branching skills out since reaching mastery skills in swords and slings.

    Problem #2:
    The TOEF. Have no Rings of ice. Do I really need them? I have 3 blessed fire blankets and level 2 fire resistance. Plenty of spense weed and healing spells.

    Problem #3: This is the worst problem. Corruption! Oh foul corruption! Is it too late to complete this game. Can I find potions/scroll of remove corruption by picking pockets. I found a lot of good stuff this way... but to no avail yet.

    To deal with the corruption dex losses and appearance... I am trying to raise those stats...
