Is there any difference to speed etc whether I use the usb connection or the lan connection from Eircom netopia modem to pc ? Mark

No. USB 1.1 is 20 times faster than your DSL connection, and current Ethernet speeds are faster again.

If you have the choice, use Ethernet.

(Isn't there a FAQ for this sort of question?)
