Well it seems rap music has just became a blatant excuse to just sell sell sell nowadays with little use of creative talant.

Greedy people like nelly releasing 2 albums one one day, and not a decent song between them!

And watched a bit of TMF to day and it seems every black guy has to be a rapper wearing half the platnum of africa around his neck, thats sad!

well what you think? is rap dead or at least very close?

Is good rap music dead, or at least very sparse? 6 votes

before i start my rant remember these immortal words

    "Rap is something you do,
Hip hop is something you live"

rap music has become this unless piece of crap, where its all about how many hoes u did in ur bentley while cleaning ur hole with a fist full of cash. in the last 10 yrs no mainstream rap songs has been good

but on the other hand hip hop is still going strong, indepenent is where it's at. from people like brother ali, slug, j5 etc are mcing about **** that actually mathers..

    that was my 2 cents

this was already discussed in a similar thread last week, there is a massive difference between mainstream ' pop rap' (nelly, etc) and actual hiphop music and if your not into the music then all you will be exposed to is the mainstream which should be classed as a different genre to hiphop/rap as it only brings a bad name to the genre as a whole and induces these posts by people who obviously have no other exposure to the music other than the mtv/tmf **** and thus think thats all that rapping is about
go listen to some krs, blackalicious, common, mos def, talib kweli, roots, j5,atcq deltron 3030
at least do some research before posting something like that again
