I am looking to get an application in a couple of biggish companies for beta testing (I have a couple of customers with 1-6 printers but would like to see the application in a 30+ printers setting for load testing)

How would I go about finding such a company? Any thoughts....

I run the computer network in my school... we have roughly 50 clients and 1 Windows 2000 Server as well as 4/5 HP LaserJets and an Epson photo printer. Your software sounds like the solution to a problem we've had for a long time - how to log printing! I'd love to arrange a meeting or demo with you with a view to using it on a trial basis... PM me and we can talk about it.

its usually 25-50+ computers per printer
so your talking about a big company.

most big companies usually only install new
software when they require it due, to security
    and costs.
i.e. companies not going to setup applications on
their network which could potentically cost them money
to fix if it causes problems.

the old phrase "its not what you know it's who you know"
would best apply, you will really need a personal contact
to get into a big company.

then again you could get a company that is looking for
you product and would be delighted to get a free copy.
    ie like school guy

maybe try your old college university
ask enterprise ireland, local enterprise board if they
    have any leads.

i've never come across companies with 30+ printers
what sort of companies have this sort of setup

why don't you launch a small business edition of your
software, which is only for small number of printers, as
    you have this tested.
This way you could develop your product and increase
your profile in the sector/market your hoping to get into,
and maybe the big guy will come knocking on your door,

i assume your charging by the printer and thats why
    you want the big companies.

I really want to find out what the upper bound of this application is - I have had it running on a heavily used network with 2 servers and 6 printers (and approx 300 users) and it wasn't particularily heavily loaded.
However it strikes me that one of the first question anyone would want to know is what the maximum number of users/printers/servers..

real world tests are not recommended

its nice to say, we have it working on such and such

but if you want to stress test you app it is better
    to create an artifical environment
